Around the world, more than 5,93,000 children under the age of 15 suffer from type 1 diabetes every year. So, it is important that not just parents, but kids themselves are aware of steps they can take to prevent or manage such ailments.
Understanding the importance of addressing diabetes in children, Sanofi, an OPPI member company, decided to take a unique approach. Through their Kids and Diabetes in School (KiDS) initiative, they collaborated with the International Diabetes Federation and started conducting a variety of awareness activities in schools across India
To make it relatable to both the children as well as teachers, the educational material has been designed in a fun, easy to understand format. Along with literature, there is also a KiDS mobile app for parents and children to browse through.
Our children are the future that will take India to new heights and initiatives like these are helping to secure their health.
