Merck - River Ambulance

The backwaters of Narmada are often deprived of basic health care, leading to major ailments and loss of human life. Located in deep jungles, the villagers have poor or no road connectivity but are accessible by river.

Merck, an OPPI company member, has collaborated with Narmada Samagra on the River Ambulance Project. It aims to improve access to basic healthcare facilities for people, mainly tribal communities living on the banks of the Narmada River in Madhya Pradesh. The ongoing project covers 30 banks, benefitting approximately 40 to 50 people on a daily basis. Till date, more than 12,000 people have benefitted from the project.

The initiative is an effort by Merck to develop localized health solutions to the communities that need them.
